Thanks everyone sooooo much! I was able to raise $690 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund thanks to all of you very kind contributors.

Mom, Dad, and Maggie walked with me and it was actually nice weather and fun!
Also, the last time I did this walk was the day before my neck surgery so I am soooo happy to celebrate 4 years of pretty pain-free time!

No wimps golf!

East Potomac Red Course league play began the evening of May 7th. After a solid week of continual rain, on and off rain ALL day.......6 ladies of the 12 showed up! and played!

It was disgusting muck, raining hard when we started, there are no water hazards on this course (but you will see one that sprung up naturally in the pictures). Pushing the carts through the mud, jumping between puddles and wading into water to get balls made for a very interesting first game. The two mentors who showed up to coach us were great and everyone had fun. I haven't been so dirty in a long time!
Of course by the end, it was sunny and beautiful with the sun setting but at least it was very warm the whole time. The fox followed us around for a while and we developed a good technique of having one of us block the hole with our putter (so when you made it in you wouldn't have to reach your hand into the 6 inches of dirty water that was in the hole) while the others took their shots. Balls landed with a splash and stayed where they were....there was no nice rolling along the grass for anyone.....
I'm glad we had other dedicated golfers.....no wimps allowed on this team!

(it'd probably be good if I bought some rain gear......)

The Prez eats hamburgers on Cinco de Mayo!

Poor Restaurant Guajillo.....literally, everyone in the front half of the restaurant got up and left when we found out the president was eating a couple doors down. We did (well, Justin nicely did) go back and pay our bill.

We had a really great view, waiting for Obama to emerge from Ray's HellBurger for a while, but then secret service made us move "onto the sidewalk", then "to the street sidewalk" then "across the street" and traffic almost got in the way.....but we did get a glimpse after 1/2 hour of waiting. He stood up on the edge of the car and waved and smiled and everyone cheered.
We just couldn't figure out why he wasn't eating Mexican on May 5, and thought he'd probably get in trouble for this too!
