No wimps golf!

East Potomac Red Course league play began the evening of May 7th. After a solid week of continual rain, on and off rain ALL day.......6 ladies of the 12 showed up! and played!

It was disgusting muck, raining hard when we started, there are no water hazards on this course (but you will see one that sprung up naturally in the pictures). Pushing the carts through the mud, jumping between puddles and wading into water to get balls made for a very interesting first game. The two mentors who showed up to coach us were great and everyone had fun. I haven't been so dirty in a long time!
Of course by the end, it was sunny and beautiful with the sun setting but at least it was very warm the whole time. The fox followed us around for a while and we developed a good technique of having one of us block the hole with our putter (so when you made it in you wouldn't have to reach your hand into the 6 inches of dirty water that was in the hole) while the others took their shots. Balls landed with a splash and stayed where they were....there was no nice rolling along the grass for anyone.....
I'm glad we had other dedicated golfers.....no wimps allowed on this team!

(it'd probably be good if I bought some rain gear......)
