Max's family tree and race record

The Greyhound database recently updated their site and I've found Max's records from his start at racing until March 2008!!
They have his family tree and I added pictures of him, since there weren't any.
Go here
Then go here and you can see his first 26 races.
In Feb and Mar of 2008 he won!
His dad Lonesome Cry is handsome but his mom DC's Why Not is not very elegant. He's got 4 brothers and a sister! I just heard a story from my greyhound group of a family finding a sibling of their dog and adopting it....so that was nice.

Grapehounds wine festival 2010
Waiting for some wine to taste and doing the usual greyhound gather-and-lean....
Finn didn't wear his greyhound costume, but that was ok, he fit in anyways.

We finally get to meet Stephanie (my helpful source of information during adoption) and Ava, and Max gets some yogurt.

Thanks for joining us, Regina and Finn!

Yay....everyone's laying down!
The hound blessing

Max at the Tidal Basin

Max turns 4!
He turned 4 today and has been with me now for 5 months.
I've been reminding him that 5 months ago he didn't know how to go up and down stairs, didn't know how to sit, and probably didn't expect that he'd have 8 dog toys to choose from every day!
Birthday present (the scary blue thing that squeaks....a lot!) was a big hit this morning.

This picture is the other day when I washed his bed cover.....he couldn't bare to not lay on it, cover or not apparently.

DC tundra adventure
So with a very stir crazy dog who is dying to run across the ice, I sat and thought about where might have clear, dry pavement where he could at least trot along comfortably and where I wouldn't slip and slide next to him.
Downtown....near the memorials, cause they try to keep those open so people can visit in the snow. Good idea!

The road along the Potomac near the FDR memorial is all clear and only a couple cars of people parked and walking around. And it was a quick walk over to the Lincoln memorial which Max hadn't been to yet. So we had a nice walk/trot, met lots of nice people (a Japanese bunch with their cameras had him pose for a pic and a bunch of little kids hugged him), and I was able to tire him out a bit.
